WP Pilot - Promo video

Overview

The promotional video is inspired by the iconic cartoon series, Powerpuff Girls. The video starts with a nostalgic throwback to the original series showing creation of the WP Doughnut - the brand hero of the WP VOD portal.

Role

For this project, I was responsible for the animated part of the promotional video. Working from a rough storyboard, I created stylized illustrations and brought them to life using After Effects.

Illustrations

The main challenge was creating assets in a late ‘90s cartoon style while ensuring they aligned with the brand’s guidelines, especially the colour palette.

The animation process was straightforward but required attention to detail. I used a particle system to animate the sprinkles and dedicated extra time to perfecting the explosion, giving it a cartoonish feel.

I didn’t receive the voiceover so I relied on the script to estimate the timing and pacing of the animation.

Final video

The final animation was delivered as After Effects project so it could be composed with the rest of the assets.
